How do we get started?

What are your rates?

  • Hourly rates typically begin at $80.

  • Rates are negotiable based on job type, location, number of students, etc.

  • Sliding scale rates are available.

  • Payment accepted by cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle.

Have you passed a background check?

 

I submit to background checks every year through Wyzant tutoring. I'm on file as a former employee of the New York City Board of Education, and am employed as a professor in good standing at Montclair State University, Kean University, and Union County College.

Do you work with anyone else?

 

I'm a sole proprietor. If I can't help you directly, sometimes I can refer you to my colleagues in other tutoring businesses.

Can you provide references?

References are available upon request.

Where will we meet?

Online Tutoring:

 

Meet with me online from any location worldwide. We will use the platform of your choice, such as Zoom, Facetime, Google Meet, Skype, and so forth.

​

 

In-Person Tutoring:

​

During COVID-19-restricted periods, social distancing guidelines, including mask-wearing, will be followed for all in-person meetings.

​

When weather permits, meeting outdoors in a backyard, a park, or another quiet public space, can be a great option for tutoring sessions.  As we work  we'll get fresh air and stay germ-free. 

 

For indoor meetings, usually a local library near both of our homes is the best place to conduct a quiet, secure tutoring session.

 

In some instances I will travel to a student's home, with parent(s) or guardian(s) present.

​

My typical travel radius is within 25 miles of, or approximately half an hour from, zip code 07933.

 

Another option is to come to my home for a session.
